Why do people have to pay taxes?

The United States is the home of the free, and the land of the brave. We are a country in which is powered by the people for the people. In order to maintain a society based on freedom and civil liberties there is a price to be paid, and that price are the taxes we pay. Paying taxes is what grants us social, political, and physical freedom. It allows the government to raise a lot of money in order to fund itself, in order to keep a solid infrastructure. Our tax dollars fund social programs, health care programs, public institutions, and pays public officials who represent us. They help build roads, schools, parks, and help develop research in medicine and science. It is a crucial part in keeping the public stable and funded, so we must do our part and pay our taxes.
